Attack of the Mutant Zombie Mailbag – Unfinished Games
Like any gamer, I have a metric ton of games that I started and never finished. Ico. Final Fantasy VI. Animal Crossing. Final Fantasy VII. (there, I said it.) I’m pretty sure I never finished the second Shadow Hearts, though I remember the ending so maybe I finished it and then forgot. Or blacked out. Same difference. The point is, I think all gamers have games that they played with vigor and steadfastness until they were distracted by something shiny. So let’s hear it, Gentle Readers. What games do you own that you’ve never finished and why? Fire off an email to the mailbag and tell us all about it by January 31, 2008.
Oh, and just a tip for you potential letter writers out there. The spam filter in my email client has been flagging some of the mailbag submissions as spam, especially when people change their email’s title from the one provided in the mailbag mail link up there. I’ve never beaten Final Fantay VII either, but that’s because my Disc 2 is broken and won’t load at the submarine part. Same deal with Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. I’ve never been able to find a working Disc 2 for that.

I have yet to finish some games myself. Like Roguegalaxy, FF12, Silent hill 3, an X-men game…. Someday I need to get back to ff12 at least.

I also never beat my robotech game. It came to a mission I had to protect some base but I did more damage to it then the enemy.

Tall order. to tell the truth i don’t think i’ve beaten a game since FFVII. I usually get to that point in RPGs where the world is in peril, and you’re have the option of entering the final dungeon, but have an additional 37 hours of pointless sidequests to do. about that time, something shiny crops up, or get hungry and wander out to the kitchen.

In the interest of fairness, if you want to discuss your unfinished games, please do it using the email link. That way we know you want to take part in the mailbag like the other folks who clicked the handy, dandy link in the blog post and are waiting patiently for us to produce a mailbag. Commenting gets you seen faster sure, but you won’t get nearly as much LC/AG love.
